This will be Chelsea's second year at Alta Vista and her fifth year overall. She will be teaching French at both AV Middle School and AV High School. Jordan has been teaching for two years, this being her first year at Alta Vista. She will be teaching Speech this year and coaching High School Girl's Basketball. Jordan graduated from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education. This is Katie's second year at Alta Vista and her fourth year teaching, overall. Katie has degrees in Spanish and Latin American studies from the University of Kansas. She has a Masters in Education with an emphasis in Teaching English as a Second Language also from the University of Kansas. Luis also holds a Certificate in Leadership. He is family- oriented and loves traveling the world. In 2006, he founded the Miss Voz Latina Nebraska Leadership Program to inspire Latina high school students to undertake leadership roles in their community and achieve academic excellence. Barbara has nine years teaching experience including two years teaching in Costa Rica. This is her second year teaching life science at Alta Vista. Greg is celebrating his ninth year of teaching at Alta Vista. He has degrees in both History (Bachelor of Arts from Truman State University) and Education (Master of Education from Truman State University). Greg is also currently working on a master's in History from Ashland University. Ms. Barker creates and teaches modified differentiated instructional material using standards-based regular education curriculum for special education and at-risk students that emphasizes higher order thinking and problem solving skills. In addition, Ms. Barker coordinates, facilitates, and manages all Individualized Education Plans for students who receive special education services. This is Sherry's third year at Alta Vista and ninth overall. She loves working at Alta Vista and hopes she will be here until she retires. Sherry is married and has two little boys.
   
This is Walt's third year with Alta Vista and sixteenth overall. Walt has degrees in Personal Administration (Bachelor of Arts from the University of Kansas) and Curriculum and Instruction (Master of Science from the University of Kansas). He enjoys sketching, cartooning, martial arts, and spending time with family.
 
This is Mr. Short's second year at Alta Vista, and his 15th year teaching overall. He has a bachelor's degree in English from UMKC, and has done graduate work at K-State and UMKC. He is finishing a Master's degree in School Administration this school year. He is a Greater Kansas City Writing Project teacher trainer, who likes to ride motorcycles in his spare time.
